Improving Collaboration in Multidisciplinary Teams

A short workshop to improve the way diverse teams work and communicate

Is your multidisciplinary or neurodiverse team having trouble collaborating?

Are deliverables late? Are people working at cross-purposes? Is frustration building? Do emotions run high?

Are you wondering what you can do to create more mutual understanding, better communication and increase productivity?

This workshop will help your multidisciplinary and/or neurodiverse teams do exactly that.

Working together with people who are different is challenging

Our brains are, sadly, wired to prefer people like ourselves. We quickly flag anything that deviates from our personal norm as a possible danger to our existence.

When, for example, a content-focused introvert works with an extraverted relation-builder, odds are that her brain is going to:

  1. Notice everything that’s different about the way they approach their work

  2. Judge, and sometimes outright dismiss it

  3. React by avoiding or attacking instead of addressing the actual problem

This reactivity is usually involuntary - people don’t feel or act this way on purpose. They are simply led by subconscious biases and processes.

The good news: you can fix this reactivity and replace it with positive action.

Yes, people with (very) different brains and communication styles can learn to work together successfully.

This 90-minute workshop is a great first step.

How it works

I’ll meet with your team in-person or virtually for a 90-minute session. Building on insights from neuroscience on how the brain works, combined with the successful tools of The Lifecoach School (LCS), participants will gain insight and hands-on experience on managing their minds to improve collaboration.

We’ll cover the following essentials:

  • Our brains: how the way we are wired sabotages collaboration

  • Biases: how to spot biases and neutralise or flip them

  • The Manual: how we subconsciously set rules for other people

  • The solution: rewiring neural pathways through simple day-to-day actions

After this workshop, participants will understand the tricks their brain plays on them and have the basic tools to improve interdisciplinary communication and collaboration.

For whom

This workshop is perfect for:

  • People working in a multidisciplinary and/or neurodiverse teams and their manager(s).

  • Leaders who want to build a high-performing team.

  • Leaders who want to leverage the diverse talents of their people.

Imagine a team that can solve conflicts BEFORE they arise.

A team that, despite huge differences, manages to work together very effectively.

A team that can address obstacles together, without individuals withdrawing back into their own corner or silo.

These are exactly the skills they will learn during the workshop.
